Registration
Referral by your GP
For diagnostics and treatment with us, you need a referral letter from your GP (general practitioner) or medical specialist. This allows your health insurer to reimburse the costs.
How the referral works
You discuss your symptoms with your GP
Your turn
Make an appointment and explain what you are experiencing. Still unsure? The self-test gives a first impression that you can take with you.Your GP sends a referral letter
Your GP's turn
If your GP thinks a referral is appropriate, they send a referral letter for ADHD Medisch Centrum securely through ZorgDomein, the secure referral system used in Dutch healthcare. A medical specialist or your practitioner in mental health care (GGZ) can also refer you.We review your registration
Our turn
We check whether your request for help fits what we offer and whether we have enough information. If anything is missing, such as information about previous help or medication, we request it from your GP. You will be notified by email. We schedule your first appointment

Tips for the conversation with your GP
- Write down beforehand in which situations your symptoms affect you: at work, at home, during your studies or in relationships.
- Also explain how things were in the past, at primary school and at home.
- Bring the result of the self-test, if you have done it.
- Mention the medicines you use and any previous help you have had.
- Ask for a referral to ADHD Medisch Centrum.
No referral letter, no registration
Unfortunately, without a referral letter we cannot process your registration. So you cannot register yourself: registration always goes through your referrer.
Questions about the referral
- No. Registration always goes through a referral. Your GP or practitioner sends the referral letter to us securely through ZorgDomein. As soon as we have received it, we will contact you.
- Yes. You also need a referral for a (re)assessment or for treatment only. If you only want treatment with us, the same waiting time applies as after a first referral.
- Within six months of completion, we can reopen your treatment without a new referral. After that, you need a new referral from your GP.
- No. We keep to the order of the waiting list and cannot speed it up. You can, however, ask about the reserve list: if an appointment is cancelled, you may be able to come in sooner.
