Costs and reimbursement
How reimbursement works
With a referral, diagnostics and treatment at ADHD Medisch Centrum can be reimbursed under basic health insurance. You pay your deductible (eigen risico) yourself and, if your insurer has no contract with us, a one-off €250.
Three amounts to remember
- Compulsory deductible (eigen risico) 2026
- €385Set by law. If you have already used some or all of it this year, you only pay what is still outstanding.
- One-off contribution
- €250Only if your health insurer does not have a contract with us, including when there is a payment agreement. Paid once for the entire care pathway.
- Reimbursement without a contract
- ± 60%What many policies reimburse. We waive most of the part that is not reimbursed, subject to conditions.

Medicines
Through the pharmacy
You collect medicines from your pharmacy. These costs fall outside our care pathway and usually count towards your deductible. Depending on the medicine, a statutory personal contribution of up to €250 per year may apply.Missed appointment
€100 per missed appointment
If you do not cancel an appointment, or cancel it less than 24 hours in advance, we charge €100. Your health insurer does not reimburse this. We can make an exception in the event of demonstrable illness, serious family circumstances or force majeure.Questions about your invoice

Questions about costs
- A complete care pathway of diagnostics and treatment involves on average about €6,000 in care costs: about €2,000 for the diagnostics and €4,000 for the treatment. That is not what you pay yourself. You pay your deductible and, if your insurer has no contract with us, a one-off €250.
- That varies by insurer and can change from year to year. Check with your health insurer or call us before your care pathway starts. Choose the option for rates and reimbursement (tarieven en vergoeding) in the phone menu.
- Some policies require prior authorisation before treatment may start or continue. No authorisation is needed for diagnostics. Check your policy conditions. If prior authorisation is needed, we ask you to cooperate.
- An invoice for your claim always shows the full amount of the care provided. That is not what you pay yourself. Your health insurer reimburses part of it and, without a contract, we waive most of the part that is not reimbursed, provided you meet the conditions.
- No. The costs of diagnostic questionnaires and tests are included in the diagnostic pathway.
- Medication is usually reimbursed, in full or in part, under basic health insurance. Depending on the medicine, a statutory personal contribution may apply, up to a maximum of €250 per calendar year. You pay this at the pharmacy, not to us. Ask your health insurer whether your supplementary insurance covers these costs. For some medicines, such as Tentin and Elvanse, the manufacturer has a refund scheme. See terugbetaalregeling.nl (in Dutch) (opens in a new window).
- Invoices can come from different parties, depending on the care and on the reimbursement from your insurer. For example, for your medication or for consultations outside your treatment. If you are unsure about an invoice, please contact us.
- Yes. You can also pay the full costs of diagnostics and treatment yourself. We then charge the rates set by the Dutch Healthcare Authority, NZa (in Dutch) (opens in a new window). Your health insurer does not reimburse these costs.
- In that case you pay the full costs of diagnostics and treatment yourself. You submit the invoice to your foreign insurer yourself.
- Care costs may be tax-deductible under certain conditions. For the conditions, see the Belastingdienst, the Dutch Tax Administration (in Dutch) (opens in a new window).
